“Living in different residences allowed me to discover different cultures and broaden my horizons.”

Who are you?

My name is Titouan, I'm 27 and I arrived in Brussels in October 2022. I work in European affairs. When I was looking for accommodation in the city, a friend told me about Sharies, and frankly, it was a great discovery.

How’s your experiment going so far?

Honestly, very well! I feel very much part of the group. The coliving concept is just what I needed: it combines conviviality and quality of life. I'm very satisfied with my experience.

Can you tell us more about your coliving journey?

My overall experience at Sharies has been very positive. Since my arrival, I have changed residences. This has been a great experience and has enabled me to meet warm and friendly people. I started by living in the Brussels Alsemberg residence, where I discovered coliving for the first time. Then, in March 2023, I moved to the Brussels Fort residence, motivated by the desire to catch up with friends I'd met there.

The great thing is that each house has its own vibe. Alsemberg is pretty cozy and quiet, while Fort is a bit more dynamic. It allowed me to discover several facets of coliving, and frankly, I loved it.

What are the main advantages of coliving compared to traditional housing?

For me, the real asset is this perfect balance: you have your own private space, with your own bedroom and bathroom, but you also have communal areas where you can meet others.

What's more, services such as housekeeping in the common areas really make life easier. Furthermore, the diversity of the residents is super enriching: you share your daily life with people of different nationalities and ages, and that makes the experience particularly rewarding.

If tomorrow you left Belgium for France? Would you continue the coliving adventure?

Yes, if I were to return to France, I would definitely consider coliving at Sharies. Having your own private space while enjoying the benefits of shared space is a concept that suits me perfectly.

Having a Residence Manager on site is a real plus: it makes everything easier, whether it's communication, organization or even the general atmosphere. It makes for a really pleasant, stress-free living environment.
